Thai Rice Export

Private Label Thai Hom Mali Rice: Best Direct Offer

Private label Thai Hom Mali rice

Private label Thai Hom Mali rice lets you sell real Thai fragrant rice under your own brand, without owning a mill. We handle the rice, the bags, the printing and the export. You handle the brand and the customers. We’ve written this for supermarket buyers, importers and new rice brands who want to know exactly how it works, what it costs, and what you get in the bag.

Everything here is based on how we pack own brand rice at our end in Thailand.

Private label Thai Hom Mali rice: our 92% purity Grade A rice, packed in bags carrying your brand.

What Private Label Thai Hom Mali Rice Means

Private label means the rice is packed in bags carrying your brand, not ours. The bag has your name, your design, your language and your barcode. The rice inside is our Thai Hom Mali, milled, tested and packed in Thailand.

It’s how most supermarket own brands work. It’s also how a lot of importers build a brand of their own instead of selling someone else’s.

With private label Thai Hom Mali rice from us, you get:

  • 92% purity Thai Hom Mali, milled to Grade A
  • bags printed in your design, in the sizes you choose
  • all export documents, including the Thai Hom Mali certificate
  • shipping by container to your port

The Rice in Your Bags

Your brand is only as good as what’s inside the bag. This is the standard spec for our private label Thai Hom Mali rice:

ItemSpecification
ProductThai Hom Mali rice 100% Grade A
VarietyKDML 105 / RD15
OriginNortheast Thailand
Hom Mali purity92% minimum
Broken grains4.5% maximum

Chalky kernels6% maximum
Yellow kernels0.2% maximum
Admixture2% maximum
MillingDouble polished, sortexed

Shelf life12 to 24 months from milling if stored properly

The product itself is on our Thai Hom Mali rice page. If your brand is premium, we can grade tighter, for example broken under 3%. If it’s a value brand, we can pack a lower grade or our cheaper Thai jasmine and Pathumthani rice under a different label. What matters is that the bag tells the truth about what’s inside.

Bag Sizes and Materials

We pack private label Thai Hom Mali rice in the sizes most markets want:

SizeTypical buyerCommon material
5kgSupermarkets and shopsPE, BOPP laminated, or laminated with a window
10kgSupermarkets and family buyersBOPP laminated or PP woven with print
25kgRestaurants and caterersPP woven, printed, often with a liner
50kgWholesalers and repackersPP woven, printed

A few notes on materials:

  • PP woven bags are strong and cheap. They’re the standard for 25kg and 50kg.
  • BOPP laminated woven bags have a glossy printed film on the outside. They look good on a shelf and are tough enough for 5kg and 10kg.
  • PE and laminated film bags are used for smaller retail packs and can have a clear window so shoppers can see the grain.
  • Liners inside woven bags protect against moisture and smells on long sea routes.

If you want a size or style that isn’t listed, such as a handle, a zip or a vacuum pack, ask us. We’ll tell you honestly if it’s practical and what it adds to the cost. Our guide to Thai Hom Mali rice 25kg and 50kg bags covers the bigger sizes in more detail.

How the Private Label Thai Hom Mali Rice Process Works

Here’s how a first order of private label Thai Hom Mali rice usually runs.

  1. Brief. You tell us the bag sizes, materials, rough quantities and destination.
  2. Sample. We send rice samples so you can cook and approve the rice.
  3. Artwork. You send finished artwork, or a brief if you’d like help with the design.
  4. Label check. We look over the text for anything that could cause trouble, and you check it against your local rules.
  5. Proof. We send a digital proof of the printed bag for you to sign off.
  6. Price and contract. We confirm the price per ton including bags, the shipment date and payment terms.
  7. Printing. The bags are printed. This usually takes two to three weeks on a first order.
  8. Milling and packing. Your rice is milled, tested and packed into your bags.
  9. Loading and shipping. The container is loaded with a surveyor present and shipped to your port.
  10. Documents. Drafts first, then the final set.

After the first order, your printing plates and bag stock are ready, so repeat orders move much faster.

Private Label Thai Hom Mali Rice Timeline

A rough guide to how long each stage of a first private label Thai Hom Mali rice order takes:

StageUsual time
Brief, samples and quote1 to 2 weeks
Artwork and label checksdepends on you, often 1 to 3 weeks
Bag proof and sign-offa few days
Bag printing, first run2 to 3 weeks
Milling and packing1 to 2 weeks
Loading, inspection and fumigationa few days
Sea freight1 to 6 weeks depending on your port

The biggest delays usually come from artwork changes late in the process. Get the design and label text settled early and the rest moves quickly.

Planning Around the Harvest

Hom Mali is harvested once a year, so private label Thai Hom Mali rice brands that plan ahead get the freshest rice. New crop is milled from around January. If you’re launching a brand, a spring launch with new crop rice gives you the strongest aroma for your first customers. Many brands then set up a standing order for the year, with price reviews at agreed points, so their shelves never run empty and the private label Thai Hom Mali rice they sell stays consistent from bag to bag.

What Goes on the Label

Every country has its own food labeling rules, and you’re the one who knows yours. As a starting point, most markets want:

  • product name, for example “Thai Hom Mali Rice” or “Thai Jasmine Rice”
  • net weight
  • country of origin: Thailand
  • your company name and address as importer or brand owner
  • a best before date or packing date, and a lot number
  • storage instructions
  • cooking instructions, which are optional but helpful
  • a barcode for retail

Some markets also need nutrition information, allergen statements, halal logos, recycling marks or text in more than one language. Check your wording with your food authority before we print. Reprinting thousands of bags because one line was missing is an expensive mistake.

Using the Name Thai Hom Mali Honestly

This matters more than people think. If your bag says “Thai Hom Mali,” the rice has to meet the Thai Hom Mali standard, with at least 92% Hom Mali grains, and you should have the certificate to prove it. We provide that certificate with every Hom Mali shipment.

If you want a cheaper product in the range, sell it as “Thai jasmine rice” or “fragrant rice” with the right description, not as Hom Mali. Some brands also want the official Thai Hom Mali logo on the bag. That logo has its own rules and checks, so ask us early if you want it.

Our guide on Thai Hom Mali vs jasmine rice explains the difference between the names.

Design Tips From the Packing Floor

We’re not a design agency, but we see a lot of rice bags. A few things that tend to work for private label Thai Hom Mali rice:

  • Put “Thai” and “Hom Mali” or “Jasmine” where shoppers can see them. In many markets those words sell the rice.
  • Show the grain. A clear window or a good close-up photo of long, white grains helps.
  • Keep the front simple. Brand, product name, weight. Put the details on the back.
  • Think about the shelf. Shoppers see the bag from a few meters away. Big, clear text wins.
  • Print the crop year if you can. People who know Hom Mali look for new crop.
  • Leave space for the date and lot code. These are printed at packing time, so they need a clear area.
  • Check colors on a real bag, not just a screen. Printing on woven or laminated bags looks different from a monitor.

Minimum Orders for Private Label Thai Hom Mali Rice

There are two minimums to think about.

Rice. Our normal minimum for private label Thai Hom Mali rice is one 20 foot container, about 25 metric tons, or a bit less if you’re using small retail bags, since they take more space.

Bags. Printing has its own minimum run, which depends on the bag type and printing method. Laminated retail bags usually have a higher minimum than plain woven bags. If your first container doesn’t use all the bags, we keep the rest in stock for your next order.

If you’re a smaller brand, we can sometimes split a container between your own label in 5kg bags and plain or standard bags in larger sizes. Ask us, and we’ll look at what’s possible.

Costs to Expect

The price of private label Thai Hom Mali rice is made up of:

  • The rice, which follows the Hom Mali market. See our guide to Thai Hom Mali rice price per ton.
  • The bags, which depend on size, material and printing.
  • One-off setup, mainly printing plates or cylinders for the first run.
  • Packing labor, a little higher for small bags than for 50kg sacks.
  • Freight and insurance, if you buy CFR or CIF.

We’ll show the rice and packing costs clearly in the quote, so you know exactly what you’re paying for your brand.

Documents With Every Shipment

Every private label Thai Hom Mali rice shipment comes with:

  • Commercial invoice and packing list
  • Bill of lading
  • Certificate of origin
  • Phytosanitary certificate issued under IPPC rules
  • Fumigation certificate
  • Quality and weight certificate from an independent surveyor
  • Thai Hom Mali certificate from the Department of Foreign Trade

We can add halal certificates, lab reports for pesticide residues and other paperwork your market needs. Tell us your destination before we start.

Shipping and Payment

We ship from Bangkok and Laem Chabang on standard Incoterms: FOB, CFR or CIF. One 20 foot container holds about 25 metric tons in 25kg or 50kg bags, a little less in small retail packs. For more on container orders, read our guide to Thai Hom Mali rice bulk supply.

Payment is by LC at sight or TT with a deposit, with the balance against documents.

Where the Rice Comes From

Thai Hom Mali is Thailand’s fragrant long grain rice, known abroad as jasmine rice. We buy paddy in the northeast of Thailand, from Surin, Roi Et, Buriram, Sisaket, Yasothon and Ubon Ratchathani. Hom Mali is planted in the rainy season and harvested once a year, from about November to January.

Its famous smell comes mostly from a natural compound called 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline, which is strongest in new crop rice. That’s another reason to print the crop year on your bag and to plan your orders so your shelves carry fresh rice.

Quality Control for Your Brand

When your name is on the bag, a bad batch hurts you, not us. So every lot of private label Thai Hom Mali rice goes through:

  • paddy inspection on arrival
  • purity testing for the 92% Hom Mali standard
  • broken, chalky and yellow grain counts after milling
  • optical color sorting and a hand check
  • moisture testing before packing
  • a cooking test for aroma, color and texture
  • check-weighing of filled bags
  • an independent surveyor at loading

We also keep a retained sample from every lot. If a customer ever complains, we can check the same rice. More on our process is on our quality control page and our rice standard page.

Building a Range Under Your Label

Many brands start with private label Thai Hom Mali rice and add more products once the first one is selling. We can pack these under your label too:

They can travel in the same container, each in its own branded bags. The full range is on our products page.

Why Brands Choose Private Label Thai Hom Mali Rice

There are good reasons so many rice brands on shelves around the world are packed in Thailand for someone else.

  • You own the brand. Customers get loyal to your name, not to a supplier’s. If you ever change suppliers, the brand stays with you.
  • Better margins. Selling your own label usually earns more than reselling another company’s brand.
  • Control over the product. You choose the grade, the bag, the size and the story.
  • No mill needed. You get Thai-milled rice without building anything in Thailand.
  • Room to grow. Once one product sells, you can add others under the same name.

The trade-off is that you take on more responsibility for the label, the marketing and your stock. For most importers and retailers, private label Thai Hom Mali rice is still the better long-term bet.

Private Label Thai Hom Mali Rice for Different Markets

What works depends on who’s buying your brand.

Supermarkets. 5kg and 10kg bags with a window or a strong photo of the grain. Clear “Thai Hom Mali” wording on the front. A barcode and all the legal text on the back.

Online shops. Tough bags that survive courier handling. Some online sellers prefer 5kg bags inside a printed carton. Good photos of the bag matter as much as the bag itself.

Restaurants and caterers. Printed 25kg woven bags with a clear product name, weight and date. Kitchens care about practical details, not glossy design.

Wholesale markets. 50kg printed woven bags. In some countries, a strong, easy-to-recognize brand on a 50kg sack becomes the name traders ask for.

Many brands run two or three of these at once. Private label Thai Hom Mali rice in 5kg bags for shops and 25kg bags for restaurants is a very common mix.

Reorders and Bag Stock

After the first order, private label Thai Hom Mali rice gets much easier.

  • Your artwork and printing plates are already made.
  • We can hold printed bags in stock for your next container.
  • Your label has already been checked, so there’s less back and forth.
  • Milling and packing can start as soon as you confirm.

It helps to give us a rough forecast of how many containers you expect over the next few months. That way we can print enough bags ahead of time and avoid delays. If you change your design, tell us early so old bags can be used up first.

Common Private Label Mistakes

A few that cost brands time and money:

  • Not checking label rules first. Get your local food authority or a consultant to check the text before printing.
  • Printing too many bags on the first run. Start with enough for a few containers, then scale up once the design is proven.
  • Designing on screen only. Colors look different on woven and laminated bags. Ask for a printed proof.
  • Claiming more than the rice can back up. If it says Thai Hom Mali, make sure it is. If it says organic, you need the certificate.
  • Forgetting the date and lot code area. It needs to be clear and easy to read.
  • Choosing a bag that’s too weak. A split 5kg bag on a supermarket shelf damages your brand.

What You Can Expect From Us

For every order of private label Thai Hom Mali rice, we commit to:

  • the spec and crop year written into the contract
  • rice samples and a printed bag proof before production
  • careful packing and check-weighed bags
  • an independent surveyor at loading
  • draft documents to check before the originals go out
  • a retained sample from every lot
  • quick answers by email or WhatsApp

Your brand is on the bag, so we treat every container as if our own name were on it too.

Small Brands Welcome

You do not need to be a supermarket chain to start a rice brand. Plenty of private label Thai Hom Mali rice brands begin with one importer, one bag design and one container. What matters is having a clear idea of who will buy the rice and where it will be sold. If you are starting small, talk to us about using one bag size to begin with, keeping the design simple, and printing a sensible number of bags for the first run. Once the rice is selling, it is easy to add sizes, products and markets under the same name.
